Waxing Appointments: A Practical Guide

Preparing for your first wax can feel a little daunting, but it doesn’t need to be. With the right information, you can make your appointment smooth, comfortable, and effective. This guide covers everything from pre-wax preparation to aftercare — for all waxing services, including brows, face, legs, arms, and intimate areas.

Before Your Wax

Grow it out

Hair needs to be long enough for the wax to grip properly — usually around 4 weeks of growth. This may feel long if you’re used to shaving, but the results are worth it. Avoid shaving immediately before your appointment, as this disrupts hair growth and can make waxing less effective.

Exfoliate gently

Healthy, exfoliated skin allows the wax to adhere better. Use a light scrub or sugar scrub in the days leading up to your appointment, but avoid harsh scrubbing on the day itself.

Book in advance

Appointments fill quickly, especially for intimate waxing. Booking early ensures you get the time that suits you. Were in demand and book out fast! You don’t want to do all the prep then realise we’ve no appointments left.

Medical & skin considerations

If you are taking medications, have recently had skin treatments, or have any skin concerns, let your therapist know during your consultation. This ensures your waxing is safe and effective.

The Day of Your Wax

Hygiene

Wash gently in the morning — no harsh scrubbing or products on the area to be waxed.

Freshen up

If you’ve been at work or are on the go, wipes are provided in the treatment rooms for your comfort.

Arrival & Privacy

You’ll be greeted at your appointment time — please note, the door may be locked, but we’ll be around! Once inside, your therapist will take you to the treatment room and ask a few consultation questions to ensure it’s safe to wax.

They’ll explain what clothing to remove, then leave you with privacy to undress and hop onto the treatment table. They’ll knock and return once you’re ready.

For hygiene reasons, we do not use towels; however, you’re welcome to bring your own if you prefer.

Consultation & Comfort

Your therapist will ask a few questions to ensure it’s safe to wax. All bodies are welcome, and we do this every day.

Pain & sensitivity

Sensitivity varies from person to person. First appointments can feel more noticeable, but our therapists work efficiently and professionally to make it as comfortable as possible.

Wax Types (Intimate Areas)

Classic Bikini: Hair removed from the pant line only (crease of the thigh).

Extended French Bikini: Hair removed from the high sides and top, leaving a thick strip of hair that starts at the public mound, tapers down onto the labia and meets at the bum cheeks.

Brazilian: Landing strip only — everything else removed. Underwear must be removed.

Hollywood: Completely bare — everything removed. Underwear must be removed.

Other Body Areas

Waxing isn’t just for intimate areas. We offer services for many parts of the body:

Brows & Face: Shape, tidy, or remove unwanted hair for a polished look.

Legs & Arms: Full or half legs, full or half arms — smooth, long-lasting results.

Back & Chest: Hair removal for comfort or aesthetic preference.

Underarms: Quick and effective waxing for all genders.

Preparation and aftercare are similar across all areas — clean, exfoliated skin helps the wax adhere, and gentle care afterward reduces irritation.

Aftercare

Avoid gym or heavy physical activity for 24 hours

Avoid hot showers or baths for 24 hours

Avoid sunbeds for 7 days

Wear loose, comfortable clothing (or go commando)

Avoid creams, lotions, or other products on the waxed area

Expect mild redness or small bumps for a few hours

Follow your therapist’s instructions for the best results

Return for your next appointment in 4 weeks for optimal hair growth management

Benefits of regular waxing: Hair often grows back finer and slower over time, making each session easier and more comfortable.

Final Notes

First appointments are often the most sensitive, but you’ll likely find subsequent sessions easier. Our team respects your privacy and comfort at every stage — you’ll never feel rushed or judged.
